Schmitt’s “Partners in Crime” at Tehran’s Entezami House Museum
TEHRAN-The play “Partners in Crime” written by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt and directed by Afshin Qasemi in on stage at Entezami House Museum in Tehran.
Director Qasemi also acts in the play along with Mahrokh Salari and Saman Alizadeh. The play is a suspenseful thriller about a couple in search of the truth. It is also a black comedy full of surprises in which light-hearted banter alternates with full-scale war.
Schmitt weaves the story around two spouses. Gilles, who is suffering from amnesia as the result of an accident, returns from the hospital, and his wife Lisa tries to help him remember his life. From what she tells him, he tries to piece together their existence. But what if Lisa is lying! Can Gilles be sure he is the man she describes, and is she in fact his wife?
Schmitt, 63, is a Franco–Belgian playwright, short story writer and novelist, as well as a film director. His plays have been staged in over 50 countries all over the world.
Several plays by Schmitt, including “Enigma Variations,” “Oscar and the Lady in Pink,” “Between Worlds,” and “The Night of Fire” have been performed by various groups in Iran.
“Partners in Crime” will be performed until December 21 at the Entezami House Museum located at No. 28, Ahmadi Street, across from Kaveh Blvd., Andarzgou Blvd.
